Bookish Spotlights: Review of FaeCrate’s “Nameless” Mini Hangover Crate

This box is not part of FaeCrate’s monthly book box subscription, but a one off special mini edition box celebrating the Throne of Glass series.

What’s in the box?

-Aelin plushie

-Enamel pin

-Dust jacket set of 8 by Gabriella Bujdoso

I knew what most of you are going to say, why did I get this box since their hangover crates haven’t been great for me in the past? Well, to be perfectly honest- I wanted the dust jacket set and plushy. I had seen the revel of the plush and thought it was cute. Plus, I also love Gabriella Bujdoso covers for the Stalking Jack the Ripper series and couldn’t wait to see what she would do with the Throne of Glass series (I mean it’s eight covers).

First, lets talk about the two small items included with the box. What was added to this mini crate, was a necklace and an enamel pin. The pin is just okay, nothing new, original or even that creative. The necklace on the other hand was just cheesy, mine came broken but still didn’t look good (the chain was broken).

Now, this mini crate did not come with a book and its two biggest selling points were the plushy and dust jacket set. Sadly, I was let down by both. The plush is cute, its just the details of the dress-not really as described and shown in their art revel of the plushy. I still like my Aelin plush and can’t wait to see her on my shelf with the books. Now, onto the dust jacket set, I was so excited for this set of new covers because I love this artist and couldn’t wait to see moments and characters to match the books. But, we don’t really get that. We get one character on a jacket and the same image on every back cover. It really doesn’t look like the artists normal work, almost as if she was rushed to get done. The characters were fine, just a little off. The least I can say is- I will not be putting these on my books because the original cover set of the books are better then these new ones.

I don’t think I’ll ever buy another box from Faecrate again. I’ll just wait to see how everything looks and try to buy anything I want from their past items sale or the bookish, sale/trade/buy groups.

Rating of box: 0.5 out of 5 stars.
