Review of Tunnel of Bones (Cassidy Blake #2) by Victoria Schwab

Tunnel of Bones (Cassidy Blake #2) by Victoria Schwab

Review: We pick up immediately right after City of Bones, which is great because then we don’t miss any of the ghost trip. It’s pretty fast paced and short (to the point), we and Cassidy are learning new things about the hunted places she visits. How there are different type of ghost’s that require different methods to help them move on into the next plane, the difficult one she faces this time is a ghost who is not tied to an object or bones, but a place. I also have to say that Schwab was heavy on the foreshadowing for Jacob and what Cassidy might be forced to do. Though I’m still holding out that Jacob is in a coma somewhere on life support, you never know.

Anyway, Tunnel of Bones is on the shorter side, but that’s normal for middle grade reads. But that just means you can read it all in one sitting, like I did. Alright, the last thing I wanted to talk about was Schwab setting up for the new big bad villain for the third and final book, along with what might happen to Jacob and Cassidy. We get just a glimpse of who this man is, he was all dressed up and I think a top hat? But yes, I think some big challenging things are in-store for Cassidy and Jacob. I hope they are prepared, I know I won’t be-I don’t want it to be over just yet!

Summary: Trouble is haunting Cassidy Blake . . . even more than usual.

She (plus her ghost best friend, Jacob, of course) are in Paris, where Cass’s parents are filming their TV show about the world’s most haunted cities. Sure, it’s fun eating croissants and seeing the Eiffel Tower, but there’s true ghostly danger lurking beneath Paris, in the creepy underground Catacombs.

When Cass accidentally awakens a frighteningly strong spirit, she must rely on her still-growing skills as a ghosthunter — and turn to friends both old and new to help her unravel a mystery. But time is running out, and the spirit is only growing stronger.

And if Cass fails, the force she’s unleashed could haunt the city forever.
