Bookish Spotlights: Review of Fox & Wit’s January Monthly YA Box “Japanese Death Gods”
(All photos are from my own personal instagram, @Partimeavenger)
What’s in the box?
–Girls of Paper and Fire quote bookmark
-Orange spice tea, both tea container and bookmark have the same dragon pattern on them
-Personal tea pot and tea cup set
-An alternate dust jacket for the Stalking Jack the Ripper book one
-A copy of Seven Deadly Shadows, with black stained edges, signed book plate by both authors, and an authors note from both too
-Free playlist to go with the theme of the box
I thought I’d start off 2020 with a new book box subscription. I’m doing another month by month, so I can skip or end the subscription whenever. The reason I wanted to start up with this box subscription , is mostly because of the newly created dust jackets for the Stalking Jack the Ripper series (one cover a month, for the books = 4 months of book boxes).
It’s also not a bad that this January box sounded so good!
Hearing about the theme, what the hint for the book was (which I could not guess at all) and lastly the tea set- were all things that made me get this box too. If you know me , you know I’m a big lover of all things Japanese. The lore/myth/ and the culture/ the food/ the tea ceremonies, and the manga/anime.
I can honestly say that I loved everything in this box, and I will use EVERYTHING TOO!
Can we also talk about the cute tea container is? Its in a shape of a small milk carton. The design on n the paper container also matches the design print on the bookmark that was also included. The bookmark by the way had a quote from Girls of Paper and Fire -“Fire in, Fear out”.
Which I’m using at the moment as I’m reading Seven Deadly Shadows (which by now I have finished by now, and it was amazing!)- and I just love looking at the quote (I still haven’t read that book yet! I need to soon!).
The personal tea set is also a great thing to get in the box too!. I love tea, I have tea everyday-its my chill time for an hour a day. But, I can’t wait to try out this new tea set and tea. So cute. I also think it would be great in some bookish photos.
Lastly, I want to talk about the collectible cover for Stalking Jack the Ripper. Fox & Wit works with an amazing artist who has done a lot of the projects with them in the past that have always had me freaking out over the artwork-Kira is the artist. And she does not disappoint with this first cover of four. I can’t wait to see the rest!
Loved this box, can’t wait for February Instagram prop box!
Rating of box: 4.5 out of 5 stars.
