Review: I was super excited to read these stories of villainy from some of my favorite authors, although I was mostly expecting these stories of these villains to be a lot like the many others written about them . Boy was I wrong! Of course Rennee Ahdeh, Susan Dennard, Marissa Meyer and lets not forget the amazing and dark Victoria Schwab. I was sucked into their stories right away. Although, I did not have the most fun reading the 13 book-tubers parts in the book (please don’t hate me! I do love a lot of these book-tuber’s channels). I just did not think that they really added much to the story and saw no real point in reading their parts, which dragged down the stories. Though they did request the author they were paired with to write the about the villain in question for their short story.

SummaryLeave it to the heroes to save the world–villains just want to rule the world.

In this unique YA anthology, thirteen acclaimed, bestselling authors team up with thirteen influential BookTubers to reimagine fairy tales from the oft-misunderstood villains’ points of view.

These fractured, unconventional spins on classics like “Medusa,” Sherlock Holmes, and “Jack and the Beanstalk” provide a behind-the-curtain look at villains’ acts of vengeance, defiance, and rage–and the pain, heartbreak, and sorrow that spurned them on. No fairy tale will ever seem quite the same again!
