Review of A Conjuring of Light (Shades of Magic #3) by V.E. Schwab

A Conjuring of Light (Shades of Magic #3) by V.E. Schwab

Review: I have been putting off this review for so many months now, that I felt I might not remember what to write about it. Or just not have the words of brain power to do right by this book. But Alas, I just picked up this book for the first time in a long while and it all came back to me.

I felt out of breath as soon as I started to read this book. Could be due to the fast paced, picking up where we left off. Or me screaming and crying the whole time. Who knows. But anyway, I am still a bit lost on what to say to you all, other then you need to read this series and this last book.

Yet, some things I will say on this book is, that there were so many intense moments that I felt like terrible things were going o happen. And some of them did, but there were also some things that were happy and good and nice. But I do have to say that I loved the two main ships even more in this last book.

Although I am sad to see these characters go, I am happy that V.E. Schwab will be writing more books set in this same world!

So yup, I’m going to stop my rambling review now.

Favorite quote:

“For the one’s who’ve found their way home”

“In myths, the hero survives.

The evil is vanquished.

The world is set right.

Sometimes there are celebrations, and sometimes there are funerals.

The dead are buried. The living move on.

Nothing changes.

Everything changes.

This is  a myth.

This is not a myth.”

“A myth without a voice is like a dandelion without a breath of wind.

No way to spread the seeds.”

Would I? Tell others to read this? Yes, everyone needs to read this series! Do a reread? I would like to, if I had the time.

Witness the fate of beloved heroes – and enemies.

The precarious equilibrium among four Londons has reached its breaking point. Once brimming with the red vivacity of magic, darkness casts a shadow over the Maresh Empire, leaving a space for another London to rise.

Kell – once assumed to be the last surviving Antari – begins to waver under the pressure of competing loyalties. And in the wake of tragedy, can Arnes survive?

Lila Bard, once a commonplace – but never common – thief, has survived and flourished through a series of magical trials. But now she must learn to control the magic, before it bleeds her dry. Meanwhile, the disgraced Captain Alucard Emery of the Night Spire collects his crew, attempting a race against time to acquire the impossible.

And an ancient enemy returns to claim a crown while a fallen hero tries to save a world in decay.
