Take a Chance (Chance #1)  by Abbi Glines

Review: I had such high expectations for this book, and after I read it. I felt so let down, because it was no where near as intense as Rush or Wood’s story. I just felt like Grant was a pain in the butt, and Harlow had it all figured out. She was the best part of the book, not just because she knows how to take care of herself, but because she knew how to handle Grant and all of his shit.

The plot left a lot to be desired in some spots, such as the relationship between Harlow and Grant in the beginning before he ran off scared. It felt almost too forced between them and not enough serenading on Grant’s behalf to try and win Harlow over till way later in the book. Don’t get me wrong I really liked the book, BUT I was sick of Grant at the end because of all his issue’s that were almost impossible to reason with. I felt just like I did at the end of the last Harry Potter movie, That Hermione ( Harlow) could have done better. And for another thing the ending was not as cliffhanger as everyone is making it out to be. Ya, it sucked what happened but good for Harlow to put Grant in his place and not put up with him anymore, because it’s not her problem.

Also we get to meet another cool character, Harlow’s brother, who I hope gets his own book soon. Because like guy’s, HE’S A COWBOY!!! And he also seems like a very interesting character that would have a great story.

Summary:  From #1 New York Times bestselling author Abbi Glines comes the story of Grant, the sexy playboy who first captured readers hearts in Fallen Too Far.

When Harlow Manning’s rocker father goes on tour, he sends her to Rosemary Beach, Florida, to live with her half-sister, Nan. The problem: Nan despises her. Harlow has to keep her head down if she wants to get through the next nine months, which seems easy enough. Until gorgeous Grant Carter walks out of Nan’s room in nothing but his boxer briefs.

Grant made a huge mistake getting involved with a girl with venom in her veins. He’d known about Nan’s reputation, but still he couldn’t resist her. Nothing makes him regret the fling more than meeting Harlow, who sends his pulse racing. Yet Harlow wants nothing to do with a guy who could fall for her wicked half-sister even if there are no strings between Grant and Nan. Grant is desperate to redeem himself in Harlow’s eyes, but did he ruin his chances before he even met her?
